You see yourselves as
heroic figures.
But I have knowledge of
your warriors of the
past.
They fought hard and valiantly
in their cause, and they won or lost with dignity.
Right or wrong, they were
brave men, men of
courage who asked nothing of others that they
were not
prepared to give of themselves.
They walked proud and
tall through the streets
of their lands, knowing that they were respected
and admired.
They didn’t hide in caves
in fear.
They were brave men, who
rode at the head of
their army into the fray. They were men of
courage
and valor.
They didn’t send out misguided
young men to
make the ultimate sacrifice which they themselves were not
prepared to make.
You, Al Qaeda and Taliban
alike, are no
warriors.
You shame the valiant
heroes who precede you.
Brave men fight while
cowards hide in caves and in
the gathering places of women and children.
But terrorism has always
been a coward’s war.
“Cowards die a thousand
times before their
death, The valiant never taste of death but
once”*
But you would know that
already.
